At Adelphi, we offer professionally edited audio as a standard for all of our voice-over projects. But what exactly does this mean? Go here and we will briefly look at what we do with the audio before we deliver it to our clients, turning the ‘raw’ unedited audio data into professional, clean-sounding voice-over files. Also included in our quality checks are, listening to the audio to check if errors have been made, pronunciation is correct, all the segments have been recorded, the timings are right, files are correctly split and named; we take out overly long pauses and normalize the levels so all the audio is of the same volume.

The level of Australian voice-over required can vary. Some clients require high-level, BBC-style Australian voice-over artists for commercial use, others require just a clear reading voice, while some prefer an Australian voice-over by a local amateur. The choice is the clients. Depending on the subject matter, some choose a male or female for their Australian voice and specify a specific age group.
Transcription services
We also provide transcription services to provide time-coded scripts for translation. The length of many languages will expand when compared to the original Australian and care must be taken in the translation to keep the true meaning of the Australian, while staying within the time frame allowed. For voice-overs and depending on the language, we sometimes have to edit the Australian to make a more concise version of the original, this is because the spoken version of many languages is much longer than the Australian and would not fit in the allocated time slot. Of course, the edited Australian is approved by the client before translation.
