Polish brochure translation

Polish typesetting

The Polish alphabet is basically the same as the Latin alphabet though it has some extra characters to account for specific vowel and consonant sounds.

Polish graphics localization

If you have any text in your graphics we can localize them into Polish, to do so we require the original ‘live text’ files such as in Photoshop or Illustrator. We have the latest Adobe CC applications on Apple Mac computers.

DTP QA (quality assurance)

DTP QA is carried out by one of our experienced project managers after the brochure has been set in Polish. They will check the document for typos, incorrect placement of text, the accuracy of dates, numbers, product names etc. when compared to the English original. At Adelphi, we always carry out DTP QA on all our typesetting projects until the document is perfect.

Data required

We require to be provided with a “collect or package” of the original English artwork for us to adapt it into Polish this should include the fonts and any images linked to the document, without these we cannot create a print-ready PDF as the deliverable.

Deliverable data

We can supply the finished Polish artwork and a print-ready PDF set to your specifications.

  1. Many languages expand once translated from English, so it is best if you leave some space for this. If in doubt, just give us a call and we’ll be happy to help.
  2. Bold, italics and even colors in the same paragraph may not translate into the target language. Avoiding excessive use of these will keep your costs down and speed up the process.
  3. Drop caps and uppercase are not supported in some languages.
  4. If you want to place text over an image, try to add it to the document rather than in the image itself. That way we can edit exactly what you need changing.
  5. We can advise on fonts to match the original as close as possible

Norwegian brochure translations

Norwegian typesetting

Norwegian has two standardized official written varieties: Bokmål and Nynorsk. The majority of Norwegians write in Bokmål, with Nynorsk use focused in (but not exclusive to) the fjord country of South-West Norway. Norwegian uses the standard 26 letters of the Latin alphabet, plus three additional vowels æ, ø, å which are listed at the end of the alphabet. These additional characters pose no problem when carrying out Norwegian Typesetting.

Nepali brochure translations

Nepali typesetting

Nepali uses the same script as Hindi and historically, typesetting Indian languages has been challenging due to the technical problems of dealing with non-standard Indian fonts. Indian fonts have often been produced with no reference to other fonts for the same script. What this means in practice is that, when using a standard English keyboard, one font may have a character on the ‘G’  key, while another font, for the same script, may have the same character on the ‘L’ key. So when typesetting Indian languages it simply is not possible to switch between fonts, as you can in English. These problems are also there for other Indian languages such as Hindi, Bengali etc. It is therefore important to use a modern font that will work in translation and in the typesetting application.

Kurdish brochure translations

Kurdish typesetting

Kurdish is written with the Arabic script, Arabic loanwords retain their original spelling, though are often pronounced quite differently in Kurdish. Sometimes when English text such as telephone numbers etc. are mixed in with the Kurdish they can reverse, so it is important to make sure the English is reading correctly. Also, we will need to flip the document so that it reads in the correct page order for Kurdish. Kurdish like other Arabic languages does not have any uppercase.
